This soul-stirring collaboration revives the beloved 1978 classic by Roberta Flack and Donny Hathaway, presented in two exquisite versions: a warm lovers rock reggae rendition and a chill acoustic arrangement.

Pam Hall, a Jamaican reggae treasure whose career spans over five decades, delivers her signature rich, emotive vocals with effortless grace. Renowned for providing backing harmonies for legends like Jimmy Cliff, Peter Tosh, Beres Hammond, Dennis Brown, and Judy Mowatt, Hall has also shone as a solo artist with chart-topping hits including "Dear Boopsie" (which reached #54 on the UK Singles Chart in 1986), reggae chart-toppers like her covers of "I Will Always Love You," "Young Hearts Run Free," and "You Are Not Alone," plus over 11 albums to her name. Her contributions have earned her numerous accolades, including Best Female Vocalist awards and a Lifetime Achievement honor.

Sadiki (Henry "Sadiki" Buckley, Jr.), founder of Skinny Bwoy Records, complements Hall perfectly with his smooth, heartfelt delivery. Following in the footsteps of his father, singer-songwriter Henry Buckley, Sadiki has established himself as a versatile producer, engineer, and artist. His label has been a platform for modern reggae excellence, with albums like Morning's Come (2007) topping charts in Japan and earning international acclaim. Previous collaborations with Pam Hall include her lead on "Freedom Song" for Skinny Bwoy Records and years of her providing standout backing vocals on numerous label releases.

The story behind this duet is deeply personal. As a child growing up in Kingston, Sadiki vividly remembers his father returning from studio sessions playing rough mixes – and one voice always stood out in the harmonies: Pam Hall's. Years later, after building a strong professional relationship, Sadiki felt profoundly honored to finally produce and share the microphone with the vocalist who had unknowingly inspired him from those early days.

Recording for the reggae version began in 2019, undergoing several evolutions. Various takes were scrapped as Sadiki relentlessly refined the sound, restarting with fresh elements and top-tier musicians each time until it captured the perfect essence. This perseverance led to the decision to also create a stripped-down acoustic version, highlighting the raw emotional intimacy of the duet.
